Objectives: To assess the Knowledge, Attitude and Practice regarding phosphate binders among ESRD patients on maintenance hemodialysis in South India. And also, to its adverse effects impact gastrointestinal system. Methods: We conducted a cross sectional prospective study at nephroplus vakula dialysis center SVIMS, Tirupati for period of 6 months. A total 226 were included study, who are between November 2021 April 2022. The involved interviewing patients, reviewing their medical records Attitude, these understand GI Results: our study. 73:27 was male female ratio. prevalence prescribing calcium 37%, non-calcium 14% combination both 49%. Most showed adequate good attitudes towards balance. Calcium based had more effect system when compared using non-calcium-based binders. Conclusion: Patients receiving mostly use Binders negative is due low awareness level. Additionally, they claimed that nutrition restrictions during not implemented with sufficient care poor compliance procedures. Further, we recommend efficacious patient counseling programs need carried out improve knowledge minimize effects.
